Update from the Student Veterans of America at

Armstrong State University

The fall semester was busy with lots of activities and, with the help of organizations like American Legion Post 184, we have reached a few goals along the way.  We provided 75 care packages to the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department to meet hygiene needs of Homeless Veterans.  We celebrated and thanked Veterans every month with luncheons, which we will continue into the Spring, as well as celebrating each of the Service birthdays.  We have partnered with the University’s Green Zone initiative to increase the knowledge and skills of faculty and staff to better identify and address the needs of Veterans and assist them in successfully completing their transition from military to university life.  During the week of Veterans Day the SVA held many events to honor all Veterans former and present, including a POW/MIA table set up at the Student Union Center at Armstrong main campus to remember those who are still waiting to return home.  And we continue to grow, with over 30 new members.

Thank you Post 184 for providing membership and support to our Student-Veterans!
